FREE WILDLIFE AND HISTORY WALK!

A visit to Chobham Common National Nature Reserve, on a tour steeped in history. 

Join the Chobham Commons Preservation Committee on a free guided walk. Locations include the camp commander’s HQ during the Chobham Common Great Camp of 1853 and a possible location of the Chobham Treacle Mine. Other mysterious wartime and historical earthwork locations. The walk starts at the highest point in Chobham parish at 243ft, 74m above sea level.  Join us to appreciate how the heathland has altered over the last 200 years. We’ll be wildlife spotting along the way!

FIND US: The walk will start on Chobham Common, Chobham, Surrey GU24. Exact meeting point confirmed on booking. Free parking available.

FREE, but donations to the Chobham Commons Preservation Committee welcome. Suitable for all ages and anyone able to negotiate heathland paths and tackle a reasonably steep descent and ascent. Not suitable for pushchairs or mobility scooters. Well behaved dogs on leads welcome.
