FREE GUIDED WALK SHOWCASING HISTORIC USES OF HEATHLAND!

Join Warden Henry on a gentle stroll around Yateley Common to learn about some of the historic uses of heathlands and heathland plants. For example, did you know that you can grind the bark of Scott’s Pine into a kind of flour, or that heather has been used instead of hops in the brewing of beer?

FIND US: The walk will explore Yateley Common, Yateley in Hampshire, nearest post code GU46 6BE. Exact meeting point confirmed on booking. Free parking available.

FREE. Suitable for everyone able to walk 1-1.5 miles on heathland paths. BOOKING ESSENTIAL! Well behaved dogs on leads welcome. The walk is fairly flat with some gentle inclines and declines. Long trousers and comfortable shoes (trainers or walking boots) recommended.
