DESCRIPTION:FREE ENTOMOLOGY WALK! \nAn opportunity to see some of the insects that make heathland such a special habitat. \nThe Horsell Common Sand Pit is a hot spot for solitary bees and wasps\, including the Bee Wolf and the Green-eyed Flower Bee. The Sand Pit\, famous as the landing site of the Martian invasion in H G Wells’s War of the Worlds\, is now home to 1000s of Bee Wolves! The shallow bowl makes it a very special habitat for these and other amazing creatures. \nLeisurely\, 45 minute walks led by entomologist and Horsell Common Preservation Society trustee\, Andrew Halstead at 10am\, 11am and 12pm. Starting from our gazebo at the sandpit\, What3Words: crush.tens.slip \nGet crafty with some insect themed arts & crafts before and after the walks at our gazebo and chat about what you found! \nFIND US: Free parking available at the Six Crossroads car park\, off Shores Road\, Woking\, GU21 4HQ.
