Waggy Walks Week 2026 – Buckler’s Forest, Berkshire

Buckler’s Forest is fascinating! Once part of the Transport Research Lab, this well-designed greenspace incorporates the history and previous use of the site and is a fabulous place to visit with your dog!

Our circular route to explore Buckler’s Forest will take us about one and a half hours, allowing our dogs plenty of opportunities to engage with the environment along the way.  We will be sharing some fun engagement games that you can play with your dogs on a walk.

Event details

Date: Friday 20th March 2026

Time: 10:00 – 12.00, depending on the pace of the group.

Location: Buckler’s Forest, Crowthorne RG45 6LN. Meeting place confirmed on booking.

Dogs per person: The maximum number of dogs per person is two.

Leads: Dogs must stay on lead for this walk.

Accessibility: The route mostly follows well-made paths through this fairly level site, though there are some informal woodland tracks.

What to bring: You will need a lead, collar and/or harness for your dog, as well as poo bags and treats. Please dress appropriately for the weather and bring sturdy footwear.

Nervous dogs: We want this walk to be enjoyable for everyone, so if you have a nervous dog, please feel free to join us, but leave more distance between yourself and the main group to give your dog space. Before touching/feeding/approaching an unknown dog, please check with the owner that this is okay.

Important note about dog walking equipment: We cannot allow the use of prong collars, shock collars (sometimes called e-collars), choke chains, or any other kinds of aversive equipment on our walks. These tools pose safety risks and fall outside of our ethical guidelines, so we kindly ask that you leave them at home. You are still welcome to join us using a standard collar or harness, and we are happy to discuss why we take this stance and ethical alternatives.

Book your place: To book a ticket for your dog on Eventbrite, please visit here.

Our outdoor walks and activities are weather dependant. We aim to let you know by email in good time if a walk is cancelled due to bad weather, but please check your emails before leaving home.
